River Boarding

Yeay!
I made it to the next post b4 the previous post reaches a year!
*Pat on the back to self*
Hello BTW :)
Actually I am SUPER sleepy right now but I just cannot sleep.
Weird ey?
I guess my body is already used to my abnormal sleep hours.
So no matter how tired I am, lights off, aircond on, flip to the left, flip to the right,
*checking handphone*
Heh?Already 3??
And the point of coming home slightly earlier than usual is?
NO IDEA!

At the clinic.

Me: Dr, pls explain why am I having such a hard time to sleep b4 3 a.m?
Dr: *Check pulse, BP, urine (for??), and so forth. Oh I know what ur having! Work-lag!

Haha.
Sorry berdrama pulak.
I guess thats what I should call it.
Haishhh.
So be it a weekdays, or a weekend,
I will still ends up sleeping and wake up so late in the afternoon.
BUT, the point of this post is not to actually brag about my so called work-lag,
but about what I did last week.
Definitely something out of my comfort zone,
and my comfort zone comprises of walking in the mall,
window-shopping, and yeah you know what I mean.
I went river boarding at Gopeng,
thanx to Jack n Jill, Says.my and of course ze bestee,
Qila for giving me the chance to be part of the activity.
The day before the actual river boarding,
I was nervous+terrified because I could not imagine how is river boarding going to be like.
So after came back from work, I googled it, and saw few videos in youtube,
people river boarding in NZ and I got scared even more!
Not helping at all!
I could not sleep and I have to wake up 6 in the morning the next day
because we had to gather up at centre point before we left for Gopeng.
There were 2 vans that took us to Gopeng,
and in total there were 21 people including Qila and her colleagues.
Once we passed the Gopeng exit, two white guys, Australian I think,
Dave and Peter, lead us the way to our destination.
Dave was one of our instructor anyway.
And yeah, the road to the place was a one lane road and its a hilly area so yeah it was like pretty scary especially when the aunty driver asked us,
"Boleh ke ne?"
-_-'
Seriously aunty?
Very convincing!
From the Gopeng exit, it took us around 15 minutes to get to Adeline's Villa and it was quite a nice place if ur planning to leave the city for few days with family or friends.
Because the villa or chalet or cabin or whatever you call it is kinda nice.
And the facilities there wasn't bad at all.
The shower, the food area, and plus with all the awesome activities you can do there.
White water rafting, river boarding, ATV, abseiling, and can't remember the rest.
The only turn off of the day was the waiting part since we had to split to two groups
because we were quite large in numbers.
So 9 people went first,
and the other 9 had the chance to finish up all the nasi lemak meant for ALL the participants.
Haha.
Over betol.
We didnt really finish it up la but we did ate the nasi lemak for few rounds.
SO we waited, and waited, and waited till lunch is served!

What??
We just had another bungkus of nasi lemak just now.
Am I really here for river boarding or food feast?
*Checking with the inner memory system*
We had nothing else to do and we looked like we were almost dying of boredom
that the aunty (owner) decided to just serve us lunch first.

And FEW more hours after lunch,
finally the first group were back!
Thank goodness!
They went for almost 5 friggin hours,
and the clock already showed 4.30 p.m which means lesser time for us :(
Despite of my nervousness,
I just couldn't care less because I was just tired of waiting and just wanna get it done.
So first things first,
which explains why on earth were they taking so long,
finding the right fit of the wet suit for everyone already took ages.
I was a bit unlucky with my first wet suit,
couldn't get my feet out of it because it was a bit too long for me.
A bit pressured there so went and get a new one.
Sampai terkopek-kopek kulit jari nak pasang the first wet suit tu.
Pedih :'(

So got my wet suit on,
and the wet suit part took almost half an hour of our time,
and then we had to get ourselves a life jacket, a helmet and lastly a flipper.

So we had to ride on a small lorry to the river,
ahaa I finally know how those construction workers feel riding at the back of the lorry.
Not safe okay!
And as soon as we reached at the river,
we were each given our very own surfing board.
LOL.

But quarter the size of the real surf board.
We were given a lil briefing on how to handle our board,
and what we should do and stuffs.
And off we go one by one for the first try out to see if we can handle it.
The first few rapids was ao-kay!
When it comes to our very first real challenge, we flipped, ran over rocks, you name it.
That was just the beginning, and my god it hurts!
Going over those rocks was painful and the worst part was no matter how bad you try to avoid it, you will eventually go through those evil rocks.
You will come to that point where ur that tired to even think of avoiding those rocks
and just go over it, redha je lah dengan kesakitan tu -_-'

There was this one rapid that will make you drown a bit
because the gradient was a bit steep
so you will fall deeper into the water compared to the other.
You practically need a very good reflect
so that when you flip along with your board (which you will hundreds of time),
you need to automatically flip back and get back on ur board.
After one rapid to another,
we finally made it to our final stops.
Weehooo!
It took us about 2 hours to complete one round of the course.
The package actually comprises of 2 rounds,
but since we were THAT tired,
we only went for one round.
Out of 9, only 3 made it to the second round.
Kudos to you people!
Despite of the exhaustion,
sudden cramps due to amature flippin (I am not a fish),
body ache and bruises all over,
it was one hell of an experience and fun all in one package
that I definitely wanna go try again!
And yes, I had my aches for almost a week!
Haha.
Super awesome activity that you must try atleast once,
just to feel the unavoidable pain and of course the thrill of it.
